Our friends at St John’s have asked us to publicise this very popular event as follows:49th Horseman’s Sunday18th September 2016 (10am to 2pm)St John’s Hyde Park
Running since 1967 in the Hyde Park Estate, the horses of our local stables will once again gather for their annual blessing outside St John’s, Hyde Park. This festive occasion gathers the horses that use Hyde Park, including horseguards, the police and carriages. Once assembled in front of the church, the vicar appears on horseback fully robed for a traditional blessing. Surrounding all the horsing around is a traditional village fete including refreshments, jazz music, cake stall and many children’s activities. A great day for the whole family it is not to be missed. A festival eucharist starts at 10am including Bach’s Jesu joy of man’s desiring, with outdoor fete, service and cavalcade following. It’s all packed up by 2 o’clock, so don’t be late.

Our summer party will be held on Saturday 27 June in Gloucester Square – please see the attached flyer for more information.
Following the success of our garden party for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last year, we are delighted that this year we’ll be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Hyde Park Estate Association!
Gloucester Square Gardens will be the venue on Saturday 22 June from 4pm to 8pm, and this year we’ll be donating proceeds to our local branch of Help for Heroes.
There will be delicious food, lovely drinks, cake, ice cream and candy floss, plus of course live music, children’s entertainment and a few surprises! Watch this space for more information – but make sure to put this date in your diary, it’s not to be missed!
We have been asked to let you know about the following campaign:
“The St. Marylebone Church of England School is helping a new free
boys’ school get off the ground. It is to be called Marylebone Boys’
School and it will address the acute shortage of secondary school
places for boys in our area.
Although we have no formal connection with the new school, we are
working closely with them, and in many ways it will be our “brother
school.” There should be many opportunities for close cooperation in
the future, especially at sixth form level. In order to succeed, the
new school needs signatures for its
petition. If you have boys currently in primary school, in years 4
and 5, we urge you to complete their petition on line at
Bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis until Thursday 15th November.
If you’ve only got a few items to sell think about sharing a table with a friend!
Items to be dropped off:
