Pub evening Tuesday 18 October

At our next pub evening on Tuesday 18 October we are pleased to welcome Simon Gartshore and representatives of British Land who will talk to us about their emerging vision for the future of the Paddington Central Estate, the area behind Paddington Station and around Sheldon Square.  They will be giving us a review of what has been achieved in this area in recent years and will discuss their ideas for the future of the Estate and the opportunities for further development.  As their plans are only in the formative stages they would welcome our views and hope to be able to discuss with us the ideas that they are considering.  This is an excellent opportunity for us to have an early stage input on the local developments in our area and I hope that as many of you as possible will attend.
We will meet as usual in Upstairs Theatre Bar of the Victoria Pub on Strathearn Place between 6.30 – 8.30pm.  We envisage that the talk will start at 7pm but do come along early for a drink and a chat with other members.  Please feel free to invite any of your neighbours who may be interested in hearing about this and in joining our association.

Launch of the Hyde Park Paddington Neighbourhood Forum Wednesday 22 June

All HPEA members are invited to a special meeting to launch the Hyde Park and Paddington Neighbourhood Forum.  It will be held at the Victory Services Club on  Wednesday 22 June at 6.30pm.

We will be looking at the special arrangements needed to gain agreement and understand the constitutional and key organisational issues.  Our Chairman Nick Johnson will be introducing our business partners and asking for your views and agreement to the application we need to make to the Council.  We hope you can come to this important meeting.

Please see the Hyde Park Paddington forum website for more information http://www.hydeparkpaddington.org/

Pub evening 21 June

At our next pub evening on Tuesday 21 June the Hyde Park Estate Association is very pleased to be given the opportunity once again to meet members of the team behind the proposed development adjacent to Paddington Station and to give them our views.  As you may be aware, following the response to their original proposals earlier this year Sellar Paddington Limited withdrew their planning application and are now planning to present revised proposals for the site.
They will be holding a public consultation and exhibition later this month (24th, 25th and 27th June) but prior to this have agreed to come along to the HPEA pub evening to seek our views.  This will be your chance to ask any questions and to find out what they have done to answer the concerns previously raised following the earlier application.   It is a great opportunity to meet the key people involved with the site and the development of Paddington and to make your views clear.
We hope that you will be able to join us and to take an active part in the planning process.  We will meet as usual in the Upstairs Theatre Bar of the Victoria Pub on Strathearn Place from 6.30 – 8.30pm.

Pub evening Tuesday 19 April

At our next Pub Evening on Tuesday 19 April Nick Johnson, our HPEA Chairman, will be bringing you up to date with the proposals for the new Hyde Park and Paddington Neighbourhood Forum. You can also find out more on the website –www.hydeparkpaddington.org–  It is hoped that the  formal application will soon be made to the council, following the next full public meeting on May 17th at the Victory Services Club.
This Pub Evening will be a chance for HPEA members to have our say about the priorities which should be set and the things which the Hyde Park Estate Association should be aiming to achieve from the new scheme.  We hope that you will come along with your views and ideas as to how to make the most of this important new project.
As usual we will be meeting in the Upstairs Theatre Bar of the Victoria Pub on Strathearn Place from 6.30 – 8.30pm.  Nick will start to speak at 7pm but do come early to get a seat and have a drink and a chat with your friends and neighbours.

Pub evening 19 January 2016

At our first pub evening of the New Year on Tuesday 19 January we are very pleased to welcome as our speakers representatives of Sellar Paddington Ltd, the company behind the proposed new development adjacent to Paddington Station.  As many of you will already be aware this is a proposal for the redevelopment of the former Royal Mail Sorting Office site fronting London Street and Praed Street, with a distinctive tall tower as its centrepiece. Consultations about the proposals are already underway and some of you may have visited the exhibition of the proposals held in Praed Street late last year.  The plans include new housing, offices, shops and open space.  As this project would have major implications for our area it was felt that members might wish to have more information about the proposed development and also to have the opportunity to ask questions of the developers.
We therefore hope that many of you will take advantage of this opportunity and we hope to see you at our pub evening on 19th January.  As usual we will meet in the Upstairs Theatre Bar of the Victoria Pub on Strathearn place from 6.30 – 8.30pm.

Pub evening Wednesday 11 February

At the next HPEA pub evening on WEDNESDAY 11 FEBRUARY  we are very pleased to welcome as our speaker Christa Scholtz, Scheme Manager of Home Start Westminster, a charity supported in part by Westminster City Council.  Home Start Westminster trains volunteers who visit and befriend families in difficulty who have a child under the age of five.  Volunteers offer help and support and if necessary refer on to other appropriate services, for example  if there is a medical or housing problem.  Two of our members are trustees of this charity and they thought you would be interested in hearing more about its important work for vulnerable families in our area.
We will meet as usual in the Upstairs Theatre Bar of the Victoria Pub on Strathearn Place between 6.30 – 8.30pm.  Please do come early to have a drink and a chat with other members before the talk starts.  Also as anyone who came to our January pub evening will know, seats can be limited!
